Citing COVID-19 and supply chain issues, some churches and businesses have opted to postpone their events for another year, while others are continuing their fish fry Fridays with in-person. Cod fish served with mashed potatoes or fries, coleslaw or corn. Our take: Sacred Heart won our hearts with their options for dessert (if you choose drive-thru, they will ask you: cake or pie). They were great! Our little critic especially enjoyed the banana upside down cake. We were so full after our meal we didn’t have much room for dessert, but after some time, we got to try the banana upside down cake and banana cake with cream cheese icing. The coleslaw was also good, and the meals were rounded out by a roll with butter. The French fries were hot despite the drive back home (much shorter of a drive than when we got fish from Holy Spirit in Palmyra). The fish and shrimp were both fried well, had good flavor, moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. We got one fried fish and one fried shrimp dinner. Their options were breaded fried or baked fish, fried shrimp, French fries or baked potato, and a side of coleslaw or applesauce.
